The idea for Parlor came from ERA’s many attempts to find the perfect rug for the formality of a townhouse parlor-level living room that felt modern and luxurious, yet dressed down. The intent behind the collection was to combine visual and tactile luxury—the highest-quality available mohair was sourced—with natural, casual details, from creating the rugs in playful shapes, to rendering an otherwise-formal fringe in a relaxed, 100%-handwoven jute. The fringe surrounding the rugs offer an inviting edge to create a point of entry to a space.

Combining visual and tactile luxury, Parlor combines casual details and playful shapes with subtle elegance and the highest-quality sourced materials to create such an entry point. The collection is certified by Goodweave, ensuring that the rugs are produced ethically and with no forced labor. Plaster, Brick, Oak, Pine, Ore, and Indigo colorways are inspired by ERA’s work at the meeting of architecture and decoration.

The Result

ERA’s first-ever collection of rugs presents a casual luxury reflective of ERA’s overall design approach. The collection, made from 100% mohair with a jute fringe, is hand-carded, hand-spun and hand-knotted in Nepal.
